Ciro is the son of Zeus and the goddess of the Storm Winds. He must stop his crazy, cursed brothers from destroying Earth, but most importantly from destroying the man he loves.
Ciro Pyktis was born with a target on his back, thanks to his father Zeus’ infidelity. Tired of her husband’s man-whoring ways, Hera cursed his latest offspring born outside their marriage to become Shivers. Somehow, Ciro was born a good Shiver, but a few of his brothers are hellbent on destroying him and the humans.
Finally, Ciro finds the man of his dreams and he should be happy, but now, not only does he have to protect all of Earth and Olympus from his brothers, he must also keep Carter Olabasu safe from the evil Ciro knows is coming.
Carter Olabasu has everything—his brother finally accepts his homosexuality, Carter has a thriving architecture business and the freedom to do what he wants when he wants. But he’s lonely. A chance meeting at a nightclub brings him into Ciro’s path. Almost instantly, he’s obsessed by a need that he’s never felt before—one for Ciro. However, when the world starts falling apart around him, Carter will have to face the fact that his new man isn’t who Carter thinks he is, and there are things that go bump in the night humans can never, ever find out about.

Kay's Review
Ciro is a Shiver. Don't ask me what that means because I still don't know exactly but he is the cursed illegitimate son of Zeus from his affair with Thyella the goddess of Storm Winds. Hera the wife of Zeus is the one who cursed him and his brothers. Ciro can control the elements and so can his crazy brothers who use that power destructively to harm earth and human. Ciro feels it's his duty to protect humans and stop his brothers. But hunting his nut-job brothers is not an easy task.
With all that going on, Ciro also has to deal with the fact that he's found his lifemate in Carter, a human of all things. The oracle predicted that his lifemate would be am immortal. But when Aphrodite foresee a different person who is human, Ciro is confused. How can that be? When he meets Carter he knows Aphrodite is correct. But why would the oracle give him a wrong prediction and make him spend so long looking among immortals for his mate.
Of course when Ciro's brothers find out about Carter, they are hellbent of killing him to hurt Ciro and Ciro is pushed into fighting them to terminal results. On Carter's side, he also has to deal with his brother who isn't all together happy that he's involved with Ciro for that matter. Carter is torn between trying to please his brother and really living his life the way he wants.
This is one kick-ass super hero romance. A cross between Avengers Assemble and X-Men. The action is non-stop and you are thrown into it right from the start. To be honest, I felt as if I was reading an already established series and that I'd missed out on a previous book because there really was no introduction. Also the cast of characters is huge but they are all engaging and have a role to play. I think there's a reasonable balance between the action and the romance, although I would've loved more smexy scenes. But that's just my taste.
I really enjoyed this and I'm now looking forward to reading Osaki and Kofi's story. Fans of Greek Mythology will love it. Happy to recommend.
