Not everything dangerous is bad.
From the moment Angelina laid eyes on him, she fell into a fantasy. Mysterious, foreign, gorgeous, Haithem offered her what she needed most—a chance to feel again.
But Haithem is much more than he appears to be. He lives in a world of danger where everything comes at a price.
For Angelina, that price is her future.
He’s made sure the life she’s left behind is in tatters. Made her family believe she’s dead. Still, he talks about protecting her, about keeping her safe, but she can’t distinguish his truth from his lies. She can’t separate her pleasure from his betrayal.
Haithem warned her. He told her he'd make her heart race, her body come alive, and her most primal needs rush to the surface. His for the taking.
He didn’t say she’d come to love the devil who’s destroying her, even as he keeps her prisoner.
You're sitting at a cafe getting ready to walk into an interview for a job as a journalist for a magazine when you see this sexy stranger. There's something dark and mysterious about him. But the encounter is brief and you have an interview to prep for.
You go for your interview, get offered an opportunity that could clinch you the job and then you bump into the stranger in the lift leaving the building. The two of you have a 'moment' but you run from him and later you stalk him when you realise you need him so you can write your article and get the job.
And when you're alone in the street in the middle of the night and another strange man appears and offers to take you to meet first stranger, what do you do? You get into the car. Of course, that's what any sensible woman would do. NOT. Erm, danger anyone!!!
So you see where I'm going with this. Angelina is the woman in question and her reckless and immature actions lead to end up trapped on a yacht with Haithem in the middle of the ocean. She's not tied up. But she'd unable to leave or contact her family. Haithem is keeping secrets while he thinks she has an ulterior motive for stalking him.
The chemistry between Haithem and Angelina is undeniable and the two of them sizzled together. What I really enjoyed most about this story was the author's sensually descriptive style. It really does pull you in and place you in each scene, making you feel and see each moment.
On the flip side it meant that sometimes it got bogged down while I was there tapping my feet waiting for something to actually happen. Sure there was an element of mystery surrounding Haithem. But this lacked the fast-paced heart-thumping suspense I was expecting for something marked as a romantic thriller.
Still an enjoyable read and the story ends in a kind of happy for now situation which suits me just fine. This is romance with some mystery and fans of romance novels should enjoy this.
