When Dawson learns Janna is pregnant with his child, proving to the strong-willed beauty they have the foundation for happily ever after becomes his new mission.
Falling in love was never a part of Janna’s plan, but she’s learning to trust her Marine. When old enemies and family secrets start to surface, deceit and danger threaten to unravel their fragile bond. In a battle for their lives, how will the two claim the love meant for them before it’s too late?
BOOK REVIEW
For a small town, Shell Cove is full of drama. That’s a good thing for a reader. I really liked that Janna and Dawson were involved with each other before the start of the book. By the time we get to them in this story they’re transitioning from the physical aspect of their relationship to the emotional, but that probably started happening a long time before yet neither of them acknowledged it.
The heat between Janna and Dawson is intense. I really enjoyed experiencing Janna’s growth from someone who had little to no ability to trust Dawson because of her past. Dawson was such a great man. A true hero. He’d had his share of pain in the past. It didn’t stop him from living his life, but it did influence it. Two strong characters make for a wonderful story.
Although the novel reads as a stand-alone I kind of got lost when the other characters came into in the mix. There were a lot of people involved in Dawson and Janna’s lives and there was one scene which was inundated with them. It was kind of overwhelming for someone who had never read the previous books in the series. Have no fear, things clear up and flow really well for the rest of the book.
I look forward to reading more from this author
