I love stories about second chances and this one delivered a great read.
Gabe is a man on a quest for redemption. Years previously he was a very immature man whose reckless and stupid behaviour and examples led to his sister's death. He is now a man wracked by guilt and is working hard by helping to set other people on the right path.
Another mistake from his past is the way he treated Victoria after a one-night stand years ago. Now Victoria is back in town to be close to her sick father. She really doesn't want to face Gabe again, not when all the feeling she ran away from have resurfaced.
But this new Gabe surprises her. Can she really trust him again after the way he broke her heart?
I'll admit I didn't always like Gabe in this story especially with the way he treated Victoria years previously. But I could also see his genuine struggle to change and be a different man.
Overall, this is a beautiful and emotional read. Happy to recommend it.
