Set in Rio, this book gets straight into the action, and takes you into the lives of the mega rich who surround themselves with opulence. Yet, Lily still seems believable because we understand her pain and she makes her own choices in her own way on her journey to discovering that she is a sexual being.
Only indulgence leads to hurt and confusion that is not resolved due to a call from home that leads you wondering what next?
The narrative is in present tense and mostly dialogue so if you like lots of rich description and a slow and steady build up then this short novella will not hit the spot. Ms. Winslow's writing is fast paced just like the life Lily leads.
