~ Book Synopsis ~
Frustrated mother of two, Brianne Hunter, escapes her bland life in rural Fennelton by embarking on a weekend away shopping with her best friend. On the drive to her friend Darlene’s estate, Brianne crashes her Jeep off the Mausoleum Road, and makes her way, bleeding and injured, to a stone ranch seeking help. There she encounters Dr. Robert Moss, whose spouse is in Europe spending their money. Thus begins an immediate attraction, and a wildly sensual coupling that essentially changes them both. When the weekend tryst ends, Brianne returns home to the demands of her predictable life. Shortly thereafter, lifechanging losses occur for both Brianne and Dr. Moss. Then comes the day when Dr. Moss pays Brianne a house call, attempting to reignite their union; however, a revelation he delivers may be more than Brianne can accept. Yet Brianne cannot deny her heart’s passion, and returns to the ranch to deliver a disclosure of her own. In the end, the pair must decide if they will follow their passionate fate together or not.
Book Review
Maya's Review
Many people live very dissatisfied lives. They wake up everyday and put one foot in front of the other, getting on with their lives, sometimes bound by duty and responsibility of family or job, sometimes bound by their fear or the unknown or change.
What if you had one of those lives and you had an opportunity to experience something different? A window, stolen moment to feel loved, to be worshiped. Would you grab it and live in the moment, forgetting your otherwise miserable life for just a weekend.
This is what happens between Brianne and Robert. Both bound to separate lives and secrets and both coming together to share a stolen weekend. I believe in love at first sight. I also know that as human beings sometimes we can be driven to do things we abhor out of despair.
I have to say that this book is perhaps not for everyone. If you don't like infidelity from main characters in fiction, then perhaps you should skip this one. But this is a story beautifully written. There were moments where I had my heart in mouth and moments and I did root for Brianne and Robert to find lasting happiness. I'm so glad they found each other.
