Shifters defend their mates to the death...
Bear shifter Darius Longton never expected to find his mate in his favorite coffee shop, but one sniff of her scent in the air is all it takes for his bear to know the truth. This delicious, sinfully curvy redhead is his.
Too bad she’s human and far too fragile for his volatile bear.
Holly Trent cannot understand the instant attraction she feels for this man. One look from his heavy-lidded eyes is all it takes to set her knickers aflame with lust. However, she will not be another notch on his bedpost, no matter how much his voice alone makes her want to sink to her knees.
But when a customer gets heavy with her, everything changes. Darius’s defense of her places them both in terrible danger. Thrown headfirst into shifter council politics, it falls to Holly to save her mate.
Another fantastic read from this author in a sizzling mix of
romance, erotica and suspense.
Darius is a bear shifter who one day discovers that his mate
is the new employee, Holly, at his favourite coffee shop. But he doesn't do
anything her because she is human and he thinks she's too fragile for him.
Things are taken out if his hands when another shifter
pushes him to reveal his true self to Holly, sparking a shifter fight in the coffee shop as his
bear rushes to protect his mate.
Holly is, of course, horrified by the carnage she witnessed by
the bear shifter who claims she's his mate and fights his claim.
But when the chips fall and Darius gets into trouble for the
laws he broke can she really stand back and pretend what she feels for him
isn't real?
Darius and Holly sizzled together, both in and out of bed. I loved that
he didn't push her even though they were thrown together by circumstances. I
loved how supportive he was even when he knew the trouble waiting. I loved that
she came into her own and fought for her man. 😃
One of the things I love about this author's stories, aside
from the hot damn 🔥love
scenes, is her ability to capture the dynamics of families (blood and not). I
especially love her matriachs. In this story we have Lydia and Daphne.
But the sneaky gem of this story for me was Mandy. I didn't like what she did but I understood her from the first time I saw her and was praying the author didn't turn her
into a bitch because she wasn't one. Misguided? Yes, she was. But she was just
a woman who needed to be loved by her mate. So please tell me she gets her own
story. Pretty please. 😉
All in all, this was a perfect read for my Sunday afternoon.
Once, I started reading, I couldn't put it down. Darius was one perfect growly
sexy shifter. I didn't think I had a thing for bear shifters. I do now. 😃
