“I didn’t come here alone today. I have a
lover. A protector, sent to me by the Goddess. He can take on the form of a
vicious fire-breathing dragon. He’ll be walking in the door any minute. If he

fit of jealous rage.”
Magnus furrowed
his brow. “A dragon, you say?”
I nodded. “A huge,
fierce dragon.”
“And you fear he
might attack me in a fit of jealous rage?”
“I’m not refusing

reckless behavior on my part to cause you harm.”
He nodded
