What if bad guys ruled the world and the good guys were the outlaws?
I’m Chaos, patch member of Outlaw MC of Mars. We fight against the government’s warped rules under the guise of hover bike enthusiasts. Gays are put to death. Women are used for breeding. Dark-skinned men are considered slaves. I told you our world is messed up and the battle is going to be bloody. I’m currently on my way to Earth for a six-month prison sentence. Level six is for sex, a twisted buffet of ass and mouth. Level five is for the fights. That’s where I shine.
Beau is a sexy Hispanic man that’s too goofy to play with the big boys. He was loaned to me for some quick, naked fun. But it turned into something else. I don’t do relationships because of my past. My father was a serial killer. But it seems that now, I have a boyfriend. It’s complicated.
Beau is released from prison before me. Can I survive three months without his calming touch? Will he survive on Mars amid my dangerous and violent club without me?
Sometimes when you start a book, you're a little uncertain about it and as you keep reading, you get pulled in and don't want to put it it down. This was one of those kinds of stories.
This is a science fiction romance where humans now live on Mars and Earth is used a a kind of mining prison. The Government in charge of Mars is oppressive and have made slavery legal, and outlawed homosexuality and alcohol. The Outlaw MCs are fighting to change things.
So the bad guys are in government and the good guys are outlaws. I love the concept.
Now for the characters: Chaos has been sent to prison for six months for alcohol. I wasn't sure if it was just possession or consumption. Anyway, he gets sent to prison on Earth. The prison is run by inmates and the guards are just there to make sure there are no riots.
I have to say when I first met the main character, Chaos, I just thought he was a cocky bastard who needed to be taken down a peg. He was so full of himself. But then again some of his internal monologue just made me want to laugh out loud and I didn't know how to take him seriously. It felt almost tongue in cheek. Then there were his instincts which seemed to hover between fight or fuck. When I saw the way he responded to Beau, I started liking him.
Beau has been in prison for over two years for trying to save a black guy who was being beaten by his step father. He's trying to keep his head down by working for Murphy the inmate who seems to run the prison. When Murphy offers him to Chaos after Chaos wins a fight something sparks between them.
The story moved along at an even pace and there's enough steam in here to chug a train. There are also some sweet moments which made me sigh happily. As I said this story grew on me and by the end I was a happy reader. Now I'm looking forward to the rest of the books in the series.
