It is no secret that I love this author's work. The Russian Guns series is easily one of my favourite book series and put this author in my must-read list. With the Filthy Marcellos series, she has stepped up to the plate again and again and delivered stories that intrigue as well as satisfy my erotic craving.
This series has something of The Godfather about it in its drama, its suspense and even its romance. Even though these characters live on the other side of the law, you can't help empathising and falling in love with each one of them. In truth while there's something romantic about the Marcellos men, they walk a fine line of sociopathy that keeps you on edge and perhaps a little uncomfortable. Make no mistake about it, these men are dangerous and violent. And that's exactly the draw for anyone who loves mafia stories, like me.
I read the stories pretty much back to back and was so grateful I had them all to read together and didn't have to wait. After reading them, I didn't want to read anything else for a few days. They were so good. Do I have a favourite Marcellos? Dante. Because he had the most to lose as the 'heir in waiting.' And there was a little of Anton in him. :-) The women in these series are no push overs and I've got to say I love Catrina. The woman had balls. And Dante didn't quite know what had hit him. LOL
Every book in this series will have you on the edge of your seat and perhaps squirming in your seat too. If you enjoy crime novels and love romantic suspense, this is one series you have to read. Highly recommended.
