BOOK REVIEW
This author delivers another sizzling and exciting story set in the Regents Park paranormal series.
This third book follows on activities from previous books. So while you can read it as a standalone, I highly recommend reading them in sequence just so you know the issues leading up to the accusations between the alphas of the packs that get Mark and Alec, (especially Mark) in the line of fire.
I'm not going to re-hash the blurb but I would say that I loved the forbidden romance aspect of this story. Alec is beta of the R-Pack while Mark is lower in the order of the rival P-pack.
Them getting together was always going to lead to problems especially since R-pack alpha had accused P-pack alpha of being involved with rogue shifters. So they are being hauled in front of the Shifter Council.
There's a lot of shifter politics in this story. In fact the entire series revolves around shifter politics. Great, because it provides external conflict to balance out the internal conflict that the characters have to deal with. In this case, Alec struggles to let go of past trauma.
As with all her stories, Alec and Mark sizzled together. I love that they get to choose each other themselves as humans without being overtaken by the mating urges of their wolves.
This is a solid M/M paranormal story and one I'm happy to recommend.

Regent's Park Pack Series
Blurb
Alec Knight, a beta in the Regent’s Park pack, guards his heart carefully. Ghosts from his past keep him alone and angry, any hope of a relationship impossible while guilt from the pack wars still haunts him. With the anniversary drawing near, Alec needs a distraction.
As a lowly member of the Primrose Hill pack, Mark Appleton isn’t used to having his alpha’s attention. Lately he’s had more than his fair share, and not for the right reasons. Despite growing suspicions that all is not well, Mark tries hard to do better, but constant criticism leaves him desperate for a stress outlet.
Sex is a good way for shifters to let off steam, and while their packs attack each other with accusations and lies, Alec and Mark work out their frustrations in bed. Pillow talk and shared secrets lead to a closeness neither was expecting, but when pack relations reach an all-time low, any future for them seems out of the question.
If they want to be together, they’ll have to go against their alphas’ wishes—except Alec won’t and Mark can’t.
