Kay's Review
She's done it again. Jaime Reese has delivered another emotionally satisfying feel-good read about overcoming one's demons and finding true happiness through love.
A Hunted Man is about Cameron who's just left prison after serving ten years for manslaughter. He is wary of his new found freedom and afraid that he is going to end up in prison again.
Hunter is an ASA who loves a challenge, and he has to convince Cameron to trust in the love blossoming between them.
One of my favorite scenes, and I had plenty, is from the first moment Hunter hears Cameron's voice. I swear I had goosebumps when I read it. These two together set the pages alight.
I love the edge of suspense woven into this story and the unraveling of the mystery surrounding Cameron's past and how it linked up to Hunter's current case files.
I loved this story but I just had this one thing that bugged me and it has to do with the love scenes. For a story jam packed with sexual tension, I just felt the author held back on the actual consummations and I was left wanting more. I had noticed the same thing with A Better Man.
Anyway, it's just my preference and I still think overall this is a marvelous read.
