This story starts off well. I love the scene in the bar where Lena meets Eric. Lena had been dragged out to a sport bar by her roommate, Miah. But she's not really interested in sport or the people and is sitting at the bar by herself nursing her drink, when Eric (Rusty) a stranger walks in and sits next to her. Their interaction felt so real and I could really relate to Lena in that situation.
The story progresses and it turns out Eric's nephew is in the school where Lena teachers and they get to meet again. She eventually agrees to see him again and their relationship progresses from there. I liked Lena and Eric. They were so many layers to both of them and seeing them work through their problems was good. Their issues were so realistic and moving at times.
However, even though this is marked as an erotic romance, their love scenes together just didn't sizzle enough for me. Something was just off about them. I didn't feel enough sexual tension to make me want to rip through the pages and find out what happens next.
That said, this is a good read for anyone looking for a tame/BDSM-lite book that deals with some human issues. I would definitely read this author again.
