With his father gone, Jake doesn’t know what to do with Luke. His three brothers see no harm in continuing to use their father’s slave for their own twisted purposes. Though he doesn’t think of himself as anyone’s hero, he knows what Luke has endured at the hands of his family is wrong. Can Jake stand up to his brothers to rescue Luke? Will Luke find his happy ending after all?

Maya's Review
This was a surprising read for me. I'd been wanting to read this book as soon as I first saw the book cover and when I found out it was out I bought a copy. It's about Jake who finds out that his dead father left a sex slave behind, the sex slave, Luke, whom he blames initially for his parents' divorce. Along with his brothers, Jake is initially quite hostile to Luke until he finds out how Luke came to be in the house and kept against his will by a disturbed and manipulative man.
This is a good read although the issues dealt with here are not for the faint-hearted. However, I did have one bug-bear. I thought it was weird and unnecessary having flashback scenes in Craig Welthier Sr. POV. I mean the man was dead. And every time I read a flashback in his POV, I kind of freaked out because, he was dead. Who was flashing back? A ghost? I think those scenes would have been stronger and connected the reader more to Luke if it was been written in Luke's POV.
This is a short novella and ended with a happy for now. But I hope the author will revisit these characters in the future and show us how they are getting on. I would love to read more about Jake and Luke and Aaron.
